What to do when you are deferred in the early application
For those who are deferred in the early application process, do not despair! A deferral does not mean you are denied for admission in your top choice of colleges. Your application will be reviewed again in the regular application cycle. Here are few things you can do to boost your chances of admission:
Improve your academic grades if you suspect this is an area that you can enhance your profile.
Write a follow up email or letter to the designated admissions officer in your geographical location or your interviewer to reaffirm with specific reasons why this is your top choice college in both academic and non-academic needs.
Provide admissions with additional information such as an updated transcript with improved grades; awards you received from competitions after you submitted the early application.
Stay positive! Continue to write and submit your regular decision applications.
